To The Love of My Life on Valentine's Day

It started with a greeting,
By blind chance a meeting,
Or was it by God’s providence,
I believe there is much evidence,

For whatever the reason,
A friendship bloomed in season,
The two became a pair,
It seemed something special was there.

It wasn’t very long,
Until the passion grew so strong,
The spark was now a flame,
The two would soon share a name,

Days turned to months, then years,
Sharing happy days and a few tears,
One thing never wavered,
It was the One that these two favored.

And the love that was born of a spark,
Was a wildfire that raged in the heart.
It kept growing by leaps and bounds,
Spreading light to those around.

Children came and grandkids too,
There were friends, more than a few,
But the others never distracted,
From the deep love they contracted,

With growing, faithful, love you see,
That’s the way it’s meant to be,
Love never ends or dims in time,
When it’s the special, godly kind.
